Just in case you’ve been underground for the last few weeks, it’s great news that a general election has now been called for 4th July. Tithebarn residents will be able to vote for the Member of Parliament for our newly formed constituency Exmouth and Exeter East. Our previous MP, Simon Jupp, is not standing here so whoever we get they will be a fresh face. The image shows the old (in grey) and the new (in pink) boundaries for our constituency.
The deadline for becoming a Prospective Parliamentary Candidate (PCC) has now passed so we know who our choices are. There are 8 PPCs and these can be found at: UK Parliamentary general election candidates in EX1 3XE (whocanivotefor.co.uk)
Voting will take place at the Science Park between 7am and 10pm. The full address is:
Exeter Science Park, 6 Babbage Way, Clyst Honiton, Exeter, EX5 2FN
You will need to take ID with you and of course, all the excitement of the results will be available on websites, TV and national news media. It might be worth booking the Friday off so you can see them come in! Whatever you do, make sure you vote…
